January 28, 1973 - March 21, 2007

Shawn was born on January 28, 1973, in Hawaii, and raised in Washington.  He moved to Alaska in 2006 and settled in Anchorage.  Shawn loved living in Alaska; he called it his new home.  There he spent his time serving his church through youth and media-sound ministry.   Shawn was a faithful servant of God.  There is no question of where Shawn is today, he is definitely making some Angels laugh!

He is survived by his parents, Karl and Donna Reid of Port Orchard; sisters Dawnelle Nordgren and Kara Lester, brother Derek Reid and his nephews Gabriel, Zack and Lucas.  Shawn was indescribable, simply because he was beyond words of what  an awesome person he was.  Shawn would never see the wrong in anyone, yet he would see beyond the exterior and reach into your heart like no other could.  He was giving, patient and had a great heart.  This world needs more people like him, we miss you.

Heart Broken - We miss YOU Shawn.
On March 21st our best friend Shawn was taken from us.  We were blessed to have shared his last year of life with him.  Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces.  No words can describe how we feel, nothing I write will tell you what are hearts feel.  We truly miss you and love you Shawn, we have peace because we know that we will see each other again.

He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of GOD; this is the gate of heaven."
                                                                  - Genesis 28:17

Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.  Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
                                                                  - Psalm 23:4

For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down-  when we die and leave these bodies-  we will have a home in heaven, an eternal body made for us by GOD himself and not by the human hands.  We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long for the day when we will put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.  For we will not be spirits without bodies, but we will put on new heavenly bodies.  Our dying bodies make us groan and sigh, but it's not that we want to die and have no bodies at all.  We want to slip into our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by everlasting life.
                                                                               2 Corinthians 5:1-4
